Cyberattacks against the government and Moldova's pubcaster
In Moldova, from May 14 and during the following days, hackers attacked the websites of the public television and government institutions, NewsMaker reports with reference to the government spokesman Daniel Vaudet.
According to him, the employees of the institutions installed the software developed by the team of the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service. It checks who is trying to enter the site: a regular user or a bot that makes multiple login attempts. "If the login attempts are repeated, the software blocks the attacks," Vaudet said. He did not specify who is behind the cyberattacks. However, earlier the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popshoi stated that Russian hackers have repeatedly hacked or tried to hack websites of state institutions of Moldova. Earlier in the Czech Republic the websites of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police were unavailable for about two hours due to a cyberattack. RELATED
