Globo's highlights at NEM Dubrovnik and NATPE Budapest
With new releases, classics and formats, Globo will participate in the main audiovisual industry events in Central and Eastern Europe next month: NEM Dubrovnik, June 10-13, and NATPE Budapest, June 24-27.
At NATPE Budapest, on the 26th, at 15.00, Rodrigo Nascimento, Head of International Business, will participate in the panel 'Driving Efficiency through Partnerships' to talk about content partnerships and co-productions. "Eastern and Central Europe (CEE market) are strategic territories for Globo and our presence in these market events reflects this and the understanding of the particularities of each micro-region. We have a long history with this market, for instance, HRT in Croatia broadcasts at least one of our telenovelas annually and bTV Bulgaria recently acquired content such as Never Give Up and Pantanal. Moving to a neighboring region, the Public TV Company of Armenia premiered Pantanal not long ago and showed titles such as A Life Worth Living and All The Flowers, with great performances. We have a vast portfolio of telenovelas, series and documentaries that show our production capacity and how our variety of productions can meet different needs in a market that is undergoing a major transformation”, commented Guilherme Jordão. Recently released on the international market during the LA Screenings, the telenovela Rebirth and the series Justice: Misconduct are some of the highlights of Globo's portfolio. Currently airing in prime time in Brazil, Rebirth is based on the 1993 work by Benedito Ruy Barbosa, written by his grandson Bruno Luperi, with artistic direction by Gustavo Fernández, same team as Pantanal, a content that has already been licensed for 130 territories. Justice: Misconduct, by Manuela Dias, with artistic direction by Gustavo Fernández, follows four characters who end up in prison and, seven years later, leave jail and need to resume their lives in search for justice that goes beyond logic and legal trials. The production has the same format as Justice: Life is not fair, released in 2016, which was nominated for an International Emmy for Best Actress with Adriana Esteves and Best Dramatic Series. The company also brings the relaunch of past hits with the Classics & Big Hits project. With emphasis on timeless Brazilian telenovelas such as the International Emmy winners India: A Love Story and Precious Pearl, as well as Family Ties, The Clone, Terra Nostra and Brazil Avenue, Globo’s best-selling production. Other titles in the portfolio are the telenovelas Land of Desire, Crossed Paths and Perfect Love and the Globoplay Originals series The End, Under Pressure and Unsoul. RELATED
