Gossiping on Friday: Management changes at 1+1?
The spring season has not been particularly successful for the 1+1 Media channels in Ukraine and this will reportedly have consequences as people from the media industry now actively speculate that management changes are coming at the second biggest media holding in the country.
In particular, there is word that the TV company is looking for new program directors for its channels which could not keep up with the competition of the Starlight channels this spring, and were left out of the Top 3, while the flagship 1+1 Ukraine (the replacement of 1+1 which is reserved for the news telethon) delivered lower results than sister net TET. Another negative effect on the company is the fact that majority owner Ihor Kolomoiskyi remains in custody and there is no clarity on what the future holds for the media group whose most stable income currently comes from the production of the United News marathon, which is funded by the state.
