You read it first! All3Media International confirms Letterbox deal in Turkey
All3Media International today announced that it has signed its first format deal for family gameshow Letterbox in Turkey.
CEETV reported first earlier this month that the show will air on newly relaunched CNBC-e. Letterbox is the latest All3Media International format to be developed by Shine Medya, who are also producing a local adaptation of Lingo for the Turkish market. The Turkish adaption of Letterbox launched June 10 on CNBC-e hosted by actor Yiğit Kirazcı, where contestants from all over Turkey have the chance to win 50,000 TL in just 50 minutes. Letterbox was created by David Young, founder of Hindsight Productions and producer of renowned quiz shows including The Weakest Link, Eggheads, International Emmy Award-winning Without Prejudice?, and Who Dares Wins. Gabriel Andrews, Sales Executive for Balkans, Greece, Turkey and CIS at All3Media International commented: “We’re delighted that this highly entertaining game of wordplay has received its first format commission, for 60 episodes, and is one of the lead titles on the CNBC-e channel relaunch. The brilliant production team at Shine Medya has extensive experience in adapting international formats for Turkey and is already doing a fantastic job with a local version of our iconic quiz Lingo. So we know Letterbox is in excellent hands, and promises unforgettable moments filled with intelligence, excitement, and a grand prize! Offering an easy-to-adapt format originally developed by an acclaimed creative team, this innovative gameshow holds strong appeal for a wide range of viewer demographics, and we’re confident this is just the start of the international journey for Letterbox.” In Letterbox, pairs of contestants go head-to-head to crack a series of passwords and attempt to win a substantial cash prize. As the contestants crack the passwords, they are awarded extra information to help them later in the game. The more information they have, the better their chances are of cracking the final password and opening the letterbox containing the cash prize. The original UK version, hosted by Mel Giedroyc, was produced for two seasons for BBC Two and nominated for Best Game Show at the UK’s National Reality TV Awards. RELATED
