Ukrainian TV cameraman killed in combat
Soldier, cameraman Ihor Zakharov (previously with Ukraina TV and 1+1), who had been considered missing, was killed in action, as reported to the IMI by his colleague, the correspondent Natalia Maliarchuk, who worked with him on Ukraina TV for five years.
Ihor served in the National Guard; he had been drafted at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. According to Natalia, Ihor went missing a year ago and his fate had been unknown. His remains were discovered the other day and the examination confirmed that it was him. Natalia said that Ihor was a sunshine person who liked to sleep in, so he often signed up for the second shift working on the evening episodes of "News of the Day". "He had a superpower to turn tense situations into a good laugh and to defuse any conflict. He was a smile of a person. In the five years I have worked with him, I have never seen him depressed. He had problems, like anyone, but he was very philosophical about life. There were no hopeless situations with him," Natalia said. According to the Institute of Mass Information, Ihor Zakharov is the 88th media professional to die as a result of Russia's full-scale aggression. RELATED
