BBC Studios announced today that RTL Hungary has commissioned a local version of the Norwegian format Nation's Dumbest which they distribute. Filming is scheduled for this summer.

As TVBIZZ reported earlier, the format is also being adapted by TV 2 Denmark.

The new agreements follow standout performance for Nation’s Dumbest in existing markets. In France, the show, produced by BBC Studios France Productions, has become the 1 unscripted title of the year to date. Launching on TF1 as the most-watched program of the day, it delivered a peak audience of 4.6 million viewers and a 24.7% market share across its opening night. [But dropped to 2.8 million for the finale, as per TVBIZZ. - Ed.] The format has since ranked as the highest-rated new format launch in France since 2020 and the biggest unscripted debut since 2022, outperforming a range of well-established entertainment brands.

In Sweden, the format was the 1 new entertainment launch of the year with the premiere drawing more than 1.1 million viewers for TV4.
