PBK resumes production of local news in Russian for viewers in Lithuania
From February 15, 2016, after the planned restructuring the local newscast in Russian language Litovskoye Vremya (Lithuanian Time) will return on PBK Lithuania, airing every workday at 20.40, the channel informs.
Over the twelve years since the first edition of the program Litovskoye Vremya in 2004, it was the only local news broadcast in Russian language in the media space of Lithuania. At the end of 2015 it was decided to close the program for restructuring. “Pervij Baltijski Kanal continues to be ready to offer a platform for the expression to different members of society and to serve as a successful communication channel with the non-national part of the Lithuanian population, " the channel said. Julia Pirogova, Head of the News Department PBK: "Since the beginning of the year, we have received numerous calls and letters from our viewers. We have realized how big role and what significance this, the only news programs in Russian, has for the Russian-speaking population in Lithuania. We hereby thank our viewers for their support and inform that form February 15 this year "Litovskoye Vremya” will continue again to provide its audience with widespread information, and, of course, same like before, to serve to protect their interests.
