TRT World launches on Sky
Expanding its television distribution across the UK and Ireland, Turkey’s first English language international news platform, TRT World, is now available on the Sky satellite service.
TRT World is owned by the Turkish national public broadcaster TRT, and comprises a platform of news outlets that is said to “inspire change within the world” through diverse reporting. It is headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey and has three broadcast centers located in London, Washington DC and Singapore. The channel is now available to all the pay-TV giant’s 11.5 million standard and high definition subscribers, a milestone achievement, said TRT deputy director general Ibrahim Eren. “Since its launch, TRT World has achieved more than any other network has achieved in the same amount of time,” he remarked. “Our international news content brings new perspectives from a unique point of view and we will continue to expand our reach to be present wherever news is consumed, on both television and digital platforms.” RELATED
