With less than two weeks remaining until the start of MIPCOM 2019, CEE Screenings presents today the new Russian sports drama Mother of Champions. The series premiered on CTC this spring delivering solid ratings in the key demos and has been renewed for a second season which will air next year.

Vera had everything at the age of 17: gold medals at competitions, a boyfriend, the dad she adored and the mom who was a swimming coach. But after her mother’s betrayal, Vera suddenly lost everything she had: the girl leaves the big sports and becomes a single mother. 15 years later she is a successful coach and among others, she trains her son Kirill. But the past does not leave Vera alone and gives her a tempting offer. Now, the former champion has to confront again both her wicked and cunning mother who is ready to do anything to secure a big victory and her ex-boyfriend who is the chief coach of the national swimming team.
