RTL Hungary wins record number of TV Journalism Awards
The 8th Television Journalism Awards ceremony was held this year. RTL Hungary was nominated in 11 of 12 categories and received a total of 21 nominations, sweeping 6 awards and becoming the absolute winner of the gala. Judges of the professional panel awarded Best Weekly TV series to Side Effect, Best Actress to Dóra Sztarenki and Best Actor to Péter Scherer.
Similarly to previous years, RTL Hungary emerged as the clear winner of this year’s award gala: its artists and shows were nominated in 11 of 12 categories and received 6 awards of 21 nominations, overall. In three categories, Best series, Best actress and Best actor respectively, shows and artists of RTL Hungary were the exclusive nominees. Furthermore, in three other categories, RTL received two of three nominations. In 2020, the shows and artists of RTL Hungary received critical acclaim in the following categories: Best Weekly TV Series - Side Effect; Best Actress - Dóra Sztarenki (Side Effect); Best Actor - Péter Scherer (Tiger Daddy); Best Supporting Actress or Actor - Ágnes Barta (Side Effect); Best Host - Bence Istenes (The Masked Singer); Best Large Scale Show - The Masked Singer. The Television Journalism Awards were first awarded in 2014. It is an independent award of professional acclaim that aims to reward ambitious performances of television journalism in Hungary, using traditional aspects and attitude of critical review. RELATED
