Polish Filmmakers sign agreement with Canal+
In September this year Canal+ Polska and the Polish Filmmakers Association have concluded a general agreement on the use by the operator, who is also the broadcaster, of audiovisual works from the SFP repertoire.
The agreement provides Canal+ with the continuity of holding the license required by law from the appropriate collective copyright management organization. The creators and producers protected by the SFP are guaranteed adequate remuneration for using their works, the amount of which will increase in the following years. “We have been developing our cooperation with Canal+ in many areas for years. I am convinced that the currently signed agreement, which is the result of many months of difficult negotiations, is another step on the way to strengthening our relations. When establishing the terms of cooperation, both parties took into account the dynamically changing legal and market environment. This made it possible to agree on the amount of royalties for creators and producers at an appropriate level,” said Jacek Bromski, president of SFP. “Canal+ has been supporting Polish artists for over 25 years. During this time, nearly two hundred film projects have been created with our participation, such as "Cold War", the Oscar-winning "Ida" or "Corpus Christi" and "So That There are No Traces", this year's Polish representative. We are pleased that an agreement was reached on the terms of using the repertoire represented by SFP,” said Edyta Sadowska, president of the board of Canal+ Polska. RELATED
