Ukraine 24 now aired in Lithuania, TV3 adapts the news channel for viewers around the world
 01 Mar 2022
In order to help Ukrainian journalists in raising awareness about what's happening in their country, Delfi has started broadcasting the news channel Ukraine 24. The channel will be broadcasting 24/7 via the Delfi portal and will be shown on Delfi TV between 22.30 and 11.00.

'Several Ukrainian TV channels and the strongest Ukrainian journalists have joined forces and will continue to jointly broadcast the events taking place in Ukraine. We've decided to help them spread and send a message to the public. Thus, we'll try to contribute to the distribution of information to Ukrainians in this period of confusion and disinformation,' said Delfi's video director Artur Paknys. 'This is where it all happens live, there will be live connection between the various interlocutors, which will be constantly broadcast on the Internet along with images of what's really going on. This news will be available for free on both Delfi TV and its official web portal,' he added.

Last week, the Internet Media Association (IŽA), which brings together several Lithuanian news portals (Delfi.lt, 15min.lt, Lrytas.lt, tv3.lt and Madeinvilnius.lt, which have the largest number of readers, VE.lt, Kaunas.kasvyksta.lt, Etaplius.lt), issued a statement expressing solidarity with all Ukrainian journalists and editorial staff working on the frontlines and offered assistance in setting up temporary offices in Lithuania, if needed, in order to find housing and financial support as well as other types of necessary assistance.

The Association has also publicly condemned every attempt on behalf of Russia to censor the country's media by publishing information about its military actions in Ukraine. The media community is calling to put an end to the 'trampling' on freedom of expression and any attempt to censor the media. The online media community has in this way responded to Roskomnadzor's warnings to the Russian Federal Communications, Information Technology and Media Service that they would stop calling Russia's actions in Ukraine 'a war' and start calling it 'a special military operation' and their attempts to prevent Echo Moskvy, Novaja Gazeta, Meduza, Dozhd and other publishers and broadcasters from telling the truth.

Delfi's main shareholder Hans H. Luik has decided to provide financial support in the amount of 100.000 euros to the people in Ukraine, who are feeling the impact of the Russian aggression. The funds will be split into 3 parts: 50.000 is planned to be allocated to the Lithuanian Red Cross, 25.000 for the NGO Blue/Yellow and 25.000 - for Ukrainian journalists.

Also, TV3 Group announced that it is looking for volunteers who can simultaneously translate Ukrainian language into Lithuanian, English, Russian, Latvian and Estonian. The goal is to make the localized channel available in different languages to everyone in the world.

On Sunday, February 27, Ukraine 24 started broadcasting the Ukraine 24 news channel on all the channels it manages - tv3.lt, Go3, TV3 Play and Home3.

“We cannot close our eyes to what is happening right here in Ukraine. Since Thursday, when the war broke out, we have been looking for a variety of ways to not only help the Ukrainians, but also to help spread the most accurate information about what the aggressor Russia is doing in their country. Therefore, today we have not only started retransmitting the Ukraine 24 news channel through the channels managed by the group, but we are also looking for translators for this news.

patriots loyal and loyal to the country of Ukraine, who would translate and present all the latest knowledge to the masses right here.

Volunteers are invited to contact the following address: info@tv3.lt”
