TV content producers urged to stop distribution of channels in Russia
The National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting calls on producers and distributors of TV content to stop distributing their channels in Russia.
"While some Ukrainians are defending their territory and others are hiding in storage or in elevator halls or cellars, listening to cannonade and sirens, Russian viewers watch NatGeo, Animal Planet, VIP Premiere, TV1000, Mezzo Live HD and listen to MTV's 00 and the rest of the MTV family channels. More than 50 TV channels… We ask you to end their normal and comfortable life," the statement reads. The National Council has asked TV content producers to cancel the distribution of their channels on the aggressor's territory. "We ask you to feel and understand your responsibility for all 8 years of spreading your programs in the annexed Crimea and the Russian-occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which was an indisputable signal to the Kremlin that the world supports its dirty deeds," the statement also reads. The National Council also promised to keep access to the Ukrainian audience of all channels that will stop their distribution in Russia today. "We promise and we will do everything to make Ukrainian viewers forget about the existence of channels that will remain available for viewing on the territory of the aggressor tomorrow. War is war. Those who are not with us are against us," the Council said. RELATED
