Belsat airs news in Ukrainian
The independent Belarusian TV channel Belsat has been broadcasting news in Ukrainian since March 8. Newscasts will be broadcast daily at 20.00 Kyiv time in a separate block in the Belsat Studio program and will last for ten minutes.
The news will be hosted by Ukrainian journalists of the TV channel Maryna Stupak and Svitlana Ovcharova. "We continue to stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people, and this news release is another signal that the real Belarusians, like the whole civilized world today, are with Ukraine," commented Oleksiy Dikavytskyi, the channel's deputy director. Earlier, Belsat started broadcasting the Ukrainian national telethon on its daily air. Also, from February 24, the channel hosts a daily special broadcast dedicated to Ukraine. Belsat has been broadcasting from Warsaw since 2007. Four Belsat employees are in the prisons of the Lukashenko regime for their journalistic activities. The channel's representative office has been operating in Kyiv since 2018, and the production of separate television programs has started in 2021. RELATED
