More Russian media execs added to EU sanctions list
As part of the fifth package of sanctions, the European Union introduced restrictive measures against 217 businessmen, politicians and journalists from Russia, the DPR and LPR, as well as against 18 legal entities. This is stated in the Official Journal of the EU.
The EU sanctions included "high-ranking Kremlin officials, businessmen - Moshe Kantor, Boris Rotenberg and Oleg Deripaska, other prominent businessmen working in key sectors of the economy, such as energy, finance, media, defense and military industries, as well as supporters of disinformation, manipulation of information, the systematic dissemination of false information by the Kremlin about the situation in Ukraine,” the authors of the document note. Among the leaders of the Russian media, the sanctions lists included: General Director of RTR (VGTRK) Oleg Dobrodeev; editor-in-chief of Moskovsky Komsomolets Pavel Gusev; General Director of TASS Sergey Mikhailov; General Director of the St. Petersburg TV channel Alexander Malkevich; editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko.
