 10 Oct 2022
The Ukrainian IT Army hacked the website of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and congratulated dictator Vladimir Putin on his "last birthday," reports AIN.ua.

"IT Army of Ukraine here. We want to congratulate Putin on his last birthday and wish him a 'comfortable' trip to The Hague!" the message read; it is no longer on the website. Telegram channel DC8044 F33d posted a screenshot of what the website looked like before the attack.
At the same time, the media reports, the Russian CSTO website is down.

As a reminder, the CSTO is a military-political international organization that includes Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.

On February 26, the Ministry of Digital Transformation launched a project called IT Army, or IT Army of Ukraine. Its main task is to fight against the aggressor country in the digital space. This is a volunteer movement. As of March, it has united over 310.000 Ukrainian and international IT specialists, cyber specialists, people from the creative industry, etc., who are fighting against the occupier online. Anyone can join the cyber army.

IT Army specialists often approach tasks creatively. For example, hack the websites of the Federal Penitentiary Service, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Energy, and Rosatom. In addition to blocking Russian resources, the tasks of the IT Army include spreading truthful information about the war in Ukraine among the aggressor country's people and putting pressure on companies that do not want to withdraw from the Russian Federation.
