Sinking Ship announces Baltic deal for Dino Dana
Sinking Ship Entertainment (SSE) announced a number of deals for its popular kids’ series Odd Squad and Dino Dana. In particular,
Seasons I – IV of the preschool dinosaur adventure series Dino Dana have been sold to Duo Media Networks in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Also, Seasons I and II have been sold to TFO and Quebecor Content in French Canada. Season II of Odd Squad, the co-production with Fred Rogers Productions is a math comedy series for kids, has been sold to France Télévisions for French-language rights in Europe while Season III has been sold to Ypsilon for distribution rights in Spain. Additionally, Season I has been sold to Quebecor Content for distribution in French Canada. “Odd Squad and Dino Dana are both successful Emmy®-winning franchises that continue to grow across the world,” said Kate Sanagan, Head of Sales and Distribution at Sinking Ship Entertainment. “They are consistent ratings winners and deliver excellent audience engagement. Odd Squad and Dino Dana are always generating new fans and we are thrilled to see these shows land with these buyers.” Odd Squad is a live-action comedy about kid agents who are equipped with the world’s most advanced and unpredictable gadgetry. Whenever something strange or unusual happens, it’s Odd Squad’s job to put things right by using math to solve odd problems. Odd Squad was created by Tim McKeon and Adam Peltzman and is co-produced by Sinking Ship Entertainment and Fred Rogers Productions in association with TVOkids and Ici Radio-Canada Télé. The Emmy® Award-winning series premiered on TVOkids in Canada and PBS KIDS in the United States in November of 2014. The series has garnered critical praise throughout the world. Dino Dana, an Emmy Award-winning series created and directed by Sinking Ship’s J. J. Johnson, follows Dana, a 10-year-old girl who loves dinosaurs. Her life changes forever when she's given a Dino Field Guide, which not only teaches her new things about dinosaurs, but gives her the power to imagine dinosaurs into real life. Developed as a followup to the Dino Dan series, it is produced by Sinking Ship Entertainment, in association with Prime Video and TVOkids. The series premiered in 2017 and was followed by the theatrical release in June of 2020 of Dino Dana The Movie, produced for Prime Video and TVOkids with the participation of Téléfilm Canada, Shaw Rocket Fund and Ontario Creates. Dino Dana has won three Daytime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Performer in a Children’s, Family Viewing or Special Class Program. RELATED
