bTV acquires yes Studios’ Fauda ahead of NATPE Budapest
yes Studios, the Israeli producer and distributor best-known for hit TV dramas such Your Honor, The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem and Shtisel, is announced today that its hugely popular series Fauda has just landed in Bulgaria.
In a new linear TV deal, bTV Media Group has acquired the first three seasons (36 episodes) of the hit action thriller, with the dramatic exploits of Doron and the team due to premiere in the Fall. Inspired by the real-life experiences of its creators, Fauda follows a team of elite Israeli undercover agents, led by Doron Kavillio (Lior Raz), as they work to apprehend Hamas activities in the West Bank. Gritty, gripping and consistently praised for its authentic performances and storytelling, Fauda portrays the complex Palestinian-Israeli conflict in a new light, opening a window to the Middle East and sparking meaningful dialogue about cultural identity. Winner of numerous awards, including Best Series at the Israeli Academy TV Awards, and critically acclaimed in press across the world, Fauda has proved a massive success since its international debut on Netflix in 2016. Fauda was created by Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff and is produced by yes TV and L. Benasuly Productions. yes Studios distributes the series and format. Fauda has been remade in India as Tanaav for SonyLIV, with a second season greenlit recently.
