CEE Screenings 2023 kicks off today
CEE Screenings 2023 kicks off today with the presentation of our Official Partner Banijay Rights. The acclaimed distributor is showcasing the new British drama For Her Sins which debuted on Channel 5 this summer, as well as US cult sitcom Hot in Cleveland and Australian hit RFDS.
For Her Sins (https://pitchplay.tv/ceescreenings/100) Genre: Drama, 4x60' For Her Sins is written and created by Jo Rogers (The Colony), who also serves as associate producer, and is directed by Adrian McDowall (The Last Czars, Willow). Executive producers for Gaumont are Alison Jackson and Jessica Connell. Jo Joyner (Stay Close, Ackley Bridge, Shakespeare & Hathaway) plays Laura, a woman who has the perfect family on paper – a loving husband and two beautiful children. But like any family there are cracks in their perfect veneer. Cracks that Emily, played by Rachel Shenton (All Creatures Great and Small, White Gold), a charismatic stranger, is hell bent on exploiting. We see Laura led down an increasingly dangerous path as Emily nurtures Laura’s neuroses about her ability as a mother, fuels tensions in her marriage and reignites an old flame from Laura’s past. But Laura is hiding something too… and these two women are bound by a shared secret, one they have both tried to keep buried. But nothing stays a secret forever. Hot in Cleveland (https://pitchplay.tv/ceescreenings/102) Genre: Comedy, 24x30' Three fabulous best friends from LA - novelist Melanie Moretti (Valerie Bertinelli), eye-brow archer to the stars Joy Scroggs (Jane Leeves) and former soap star Victoria Chase (Wendie Malick) find their lives changed forever when their plane, headed for Paris, makes an unexpected landing - in Cleveland. When the friends discover that they are hot in Cleveland they decide to stay. They rent a house that happens to come with a very feisty caretaker.
