The Ukrainian Film Academy announced that it is launching a new grant program for Ukrainian screenwriters and producers, who can apply for mentoring and financial support for their projects. Applications will be accepted until April 17.

The program provides $10.000 grants to support 20 feature-length feature film script development projects for teams of screenwriters and producers who have Ukrainian citizenship.

In addition, each of the teams participating in the grant program will participate in master classes developed by EAVE (one of the leading educational programs for producers in Europe with a unique global network), and will receive individual consultations and mentoring from EAVE experts on writing script, financing and marketing strategies for their projects.

In its message, the Ukrainian Film Academy reminds that it has been cooperating with Netflix for the past two years to provide support to Ukrainian filmmakers and television industry professionals who have faced the consequences of a full-scale Russian invasion. The grant program for screenwriters and producers, created at the initiative of the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity, is a continuation of this collaboration.

According to the Ukrainian Film Academy, to date, 200 specialists in the film industry have received scholarships for the implementation of their creative projects. Another 650 Ukrainian filmmakers, screenwriters, producers and other representatives of the industry received training and mentoring with the support of Netflix.

The support of Netflix also allowed the Ukrainian Film Academy to provide assistance in the form of grants for script development to 48 projects, another 10 film projects received financial assistance at the post-production stage.

The Ukrainian Film Academy is a Ukrainian association of experts and professionals in the field of cinema and film production. Founded in 2016 to support and develop modern Ukrainian cinema. Since 2017, the Ukrainian Film Academy annually awards the National Film Award of Ukraine "Golden Spindle" for professional achievements in the development of Ukrainian cinema.
