Occupation: Witch novels adapted into YA animated series
Studio Metrafilms Moldova, led by CEO Karina Kabanova, which develops and produces feature films, author-driven series, and animated projects targeted at a wide range of audiences around the globe, is adapting Belarusian writer Olga Gromyko’s Occupation: Witch novels into an animated 12x22’ YA project. Valentina Kozyreva and Kristina Duknich are the scriptwriters of the project.
Occupation: Witch tells the story of a student of magic with a tragic childhood who tries to smart her way out of an internship and ends up entangled in political conspiracies that could lead to a cross-species war. Just your regular Tuesday for a future professional witch. The Metrafilms group of companies was founded in 1993 by Artem Vasilyev and includes Metrafilms production company, Metrafilms Studio and Metrafilms Studio Moldova. Metrafilms collaborates worldwide with well-established production companies, producers, distributors, and studios. The studio's highly experienced producers create and promote animated projects for diverse audiences. Gromyko was born on 14th of September 1978 in Vinnitsa, Ukraine. Graduated from the Belarusian State University as microbiologist and then spent 6 years working in the research institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology in Minsk, left for the maternity leave and never came back. Ever since she’s been a professional writer. She started writing her first books while still in high school and the first published book appeared in 2003 in a Russian publishing house Apha-Kniga. Since then she published over 20 fantasy and science fiction books that were totally sold in over 1.5mln copies. Some of those books were also published in Poland and Czech Republic. RELATED
