Spanish adaptation for Turkish hit The End
Turkish series The End (Son) from Ay Yapim will get another adaptation as Telecinco in Spain has ordered a local version to be produced by Globomedia, distributor Eccho Rights reports. The Spanish series will have the title El Accidente and is set to to go on air during the first quarter of 2017.
This is the third time this year that a major European broadcaster has ordered a local version of the show. The first to go on air will be in the Netherlands. Vlucht HS13 (Flight HS13) is set to premiere September 23 on KRO-NCRV, produced by Column Film. Another adaptation of the Turkish script is in production in St Petersburg for Perviy (Channel One Russia), produced by Russian World Studios. Eccho Rights distributes the original series and script on behalf of Ay Yapim in Turkey and will also handle world wide distribution for the three new ready-mades. Additionally the series is also in development for a local version in Germany, to be produced by UFA. The End tells the story of a woman investigating her husband's death in a plane crash, only to discover that he never actually boarded the flight. The accident is the start of a powerful international thriller following two brothers with a vendetta, as well as a love for the same woman. The End was also piloted by ABC in the US last year as Runner. The original Turkish series has been sold internationally to more than 50 countries with notable success in Sweden, where in 2014 SVT made it the first Turkish series to be broadcast in Western Europe.
