Ukraine’s National Broadcasting Council thanks Polish colleagues for cooperation
The Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council of Ukraine Olha Herasimyuk thanked for the support for Ukraine during her address to the participants of the Conference of Electronic Communications Operators of Poland.
In particular, the chairman of the National Broadcasting Council noted the following initiatives implemented by Polish media: • special Ukrainian-Polish project "RMF Ukraine", created by the Polish radio broadcaster RMF Group. The team of the Radio Window of Hope project also includes Ukrainian journalists who are temporarily in Poland. • the program "Give Ukraine a Hand" on TVP1. Its purpose is to help Ukrainian immigrants; • TVP and TVP ABC adapted fairy tales and children's programs into Ukrainian; • The leading operator of terrestrial radio and television of the Republic of Poland and Emitel provided TV and radio equipment to Ukraine free of charge. Herasimyuk also noted the assistance of the Polish media regulator, cable TV providers and operators, and the Polish media. According to the National Council rep, they were among the first to respond to the call to fight Russian propaganda and limit "its destructive impact on people's brains." Five Russian TV channels were removed from the register of television programs broadcast and distributed in the ICT system - RT (Russia Today), RT Documentary, RTR Planet, Soyuz TV, Russia 24. According to the publication of the National Council, Ukraine will sign a memorandum on cooperation with Polish media. Priority is given to such areas as the fight against fakes and misinformation, the creation of distribution networks that ensure that information reaches consumers directly; joint media research, cooperation in the field of new media (including media platforms and technologies, AddressableTV), as well as the development of local television capacity in Poland and Ukraine. The conference of Polish electronic communications operators takes place in Zakopane for two days - on May 23 and 24. Representatives of the Ukrainian media business also take part in it. The event is supported by the Polish Chamber of Electronic Communications (PIKE) and the Polish Electronic Communications Development Support Fund (PIKSEL). RELATED
